WELCOME

Welcome to the Website of McKinney Islamic Association (MIA)/ McKinney Masjid. The McKinney Islamic Association (MIA) was established in the year 1997 as a non profit 501(C)3 organization in a small room adjacent to the local Church on Redbud Blvd, Mckinney. Alhamdolillah with the marvelous support of our community, this small Musallah culminated into a full fledged Masjid at 2940 W Eldorado Pkwy, Mckinney, Tx. 75070.

Mission Statement: The mission of the McKinney Islamic Association/McKinney Masjid is to serve the Muslim Community residing in Mckinney and the surrounding cities in accordance to the values indoctrinated in the Holy Quran and exhibited by Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) as the role model of the Muslim Faith. Our mission is to promote understanding, respect and tolerance for all Faiths yet not compromising on the ideology of our own Faith. Our Masjid promotes Honesty, Responsibility, Love, Affection, Respect, Cooperation and Tolerance among its constituents.

Operation of the Masjid: The Masjid is run by the 6 Members of the Shura/Board and an Ameer or the President. All positions are volunteer positions for a period of two years. The registered members of the Masjid formally elect these officials who are responsible for the smooth operation of the Masjid using "Checks and Balances" Method. No elected official is paid any salary/honorarium to service the Masjid.

Masjid Donations: The Masjid is primarily run by the donation collected in the Masjid and through its Website. The Zakat Charity Fund is distributed to the less fortunate members of the community or anyone faced with mitigating circumstances. The Masjid runs various educational, sports and recreational programs with the donation amount collected. All donations given to McKinney Masjid are tax exempt. The donors are given the year-end receipt to claim their tax write-off credit.

Thank you for your cooperation.
Sincerely,
Prof. Atique Rehman
President McKinney Masjid
